Summer Stages Awarded NEA Grant

We are thrilled at Summer Stages Dance to receive a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts—a first for us!—for our acclaimed Meet the Artist Performance Series. The grant is awarded under the category Access to Artistic Excellence, which encourages and supports artistic creativity, preserves our diverse cultural heritage, and makes the arts more widely available in communities throughout the country. So you know and can help us, this grant requires a nonfederal match of at least 1 to 1. It is easy to give what you can on line, just visit www.summerstagesdance.org. And, to view the line-up of contemporary dance artists and companies coming to Summer Stages this July, click on the Performance Series link at our homepage.

Summer Stages is in great company in receiving this award. For details, please read the NEA’s press release at www.nea.gov/news08/Announce12-08.html
